Mendeley for Librarians

Great opportunity to participate in the Mendeley for Librarians - Free Webinar on July 26, 2011 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT.
Image representing Mendeley as depicted in Cru...Image via CrunchBaseMendeley is a cross-platform application (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS) that helps researchers organize their research documents, collaborate with colleagues, and discover new research. Researchers can set up collaborative projects, work and discuss in groups, and share data on Mendeley’s web platform. Mendeley users’ research paper collections are anonymously pooled on the web platform, creating a crowdsourced research database with a unique layer of social information – each research paper is connected with socio-demographic information about its audience. This data is made available to the public via Mendeley’s API, enabling  research groups to build applications on top of it.

This session will cover:
  • Mendeley as a company
  • How Mendeley works
  • What librarians need to know about Mendeley
  • The impact Mendeley is having on the research process
  • Some specific examples / API demonstrations
  • Q & A
